Found something strange in the hop yard. A row of Columbus hops has produced both male and female flowers on the same plant. If you look close you can see the small clusters of male flowers (small berries) and the female cones.

say they’ve received other reports of the phenomenon this year. Can occur in some hop varieties when they get stressed.
